This school year I have one exceptional student in my class. He is constantly using different programs to make movies, recordings, picture shows, etc. I honestly felt intimidated because his knowledge of this, I felt, was so far above mine. But, after doing this weeks assignment I feel much better. I have never realized how easy it was to use Microsoft Movie Maker and Audacity. Before this assignment I had never used Microsoft Movie Maker and only used Audacity once. Now my confidence has grown greatly.
Microsoft Movie Maker has been in my computer for years and yet I have never used it. When the class started I was worried that it would be problematic to use and would have a large learning curve. After using I can clearly see how my seventh grade student makes such amazing videos. The software was easy to use and just as easy to continually get better at.
I have used Audacity in one previous class and personally always wondered how to incorporate it more in my classroom. After combining the two I now have a world of ideas on how to create podcast and post videos on my school website. Audacity was slightly more complicated then Movie Maker, but the by using the two together a regular person can do amazing things.
